CUA50815 Diploma of Music Industry (RPL)
Intensive Dates: 2nd - 5th October, 2018 (AC Sydney Campus); 22nd - 26th October, 2018 (AC Hobart Campus); 26th - 30th November, 2018 (Cairns)
Connect & Grow
Connect with other worship leaders, worship pastors and music directors from around the country. Such opportunities are rare, and it’s a great opportunity to hear what others are doing and build those relationships which will go well beyond the intensive.
Every worshiper/musician has some area they’d still like to grow in. This is the opportunity to stretch in a way that your “day-to-day” roles and responsibilities may not allow right now.
This RPL is for those of you who’ve already done years of practical worship experience, but perhaps haven’t had the formal qualifications that acknowledge all your commitment and hard work. This is the opportunity to be recognised for all that you’ve put in over the years, to hone your gift, and to serve your church.
Applying for RPL
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is an assessment process through which the skills, knowledge and experience that you already have may count towards the achievement of a nationally recognised qualification. Sometimes also referred to as 'skills recognition', RPL involves a formal assessment process, focusing on your ability to demonstrate that you have the required level of skills, knowledge and experience to meet the requirements for competency in the unit/s within the qualification.
You will join a supportive cohort of of experienced people from a variety of worship teams and music industry backgrounds to share best practice and learn from one another. You will also receive teaching and input from the best trainers and some of the great leaders in our movement.
There are three simple steps for enrolling:
Step 1 – Application
Complete the Application Form providing as much information of your previous experience in community engagement as you can. Documents required:
- Birth Certificate or Passport
- CV (including details of 5+ years of musical/worship experience)
Step 2 – Gather the Evidence
Once you have completed the Application Form, please download and complete the RPL Evidence Checklist and email this to Daniel Thornton at least one week prior to your chosen intensive start date. An assessor will review the information you have provided and determine your eligibility for RPL. Be sure to provide as much detail as possible. An assessor may contact you to discuss any items of evidence provided. You may also provide additional information to help support your checklist.
Step 3 – One Week Intensive
If the appropriate evidence has been approved, your enrolment will be administered for you to attend a one-week intensive to finalise the RPL process. During this week you will hear from Rev. Dr. Daniel Thornton, veteran worship leader/worship pastor, itinerant minister, composer, researcher, and educator. The final pieces of evidence will be collected during this week.
AC will provide lunch, morning and afternoon tea for the five-day duration, commencing with an orientation dinner on Monday night.
