The Melbourne Campus of Alphacrucis College announces our 8th annual Research Conference on Contemporary Ministry where we will explore the relationship between justice and Christian ministry from biblical, theological and practical perspectives.
Our keynote speaker this year is Dr Ash Barker. Ash lived and served in Bangkok’s largest slum for over 12 years (2002-2014). Originally from Melbourne, Australia, Ash founded and led Urban Neighbours Of Hope Thailand (1993-2014) and SURRENDER (2003-07) before moving to inner city Birmingham, UK to establish Newbigin School for Urban Leadership and to Co-Convenene UrbanShalomProject.org. An inspiring activist, speaker and educator, Ash is the author of 8 books.

In this course, we will examine this material and explore its implications for Christians in leadership positions. Drawing on both scriptural perspectives and proven experience. The course is designed for Doctoral students as well as for leaders who are seeking professional development. A certificate can be provided for professional development participants upon request.
Professor Robert Banks is an internationally renowned thinker on faith and work, and the theology of everyday life. He has been Professor of Lay Ministry at Fuller Theological Seminary and Director of the De Pree Leadership Centre in Los Angeles and is an Alphacrucis Honorary Professor.

AC's Diploma of Community Services is a unique program designed to equip people to think and act differently regarding community transformation. It is specifically designed for experienced community workers and those who have experience in church based community services work to obtain an accredited Diploma of Community Services by participating in a 5 day intensive. This Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) mode draws upon your many years of community engagement ministry experience and provides quality gap training.
The Diploma of Community Services is endorsed by the ACC Community Engagement Director, Pastor Paul Bartlett, and is based on the TGIM Community Engagement Model, outlining the latest best practice in community engagement.
