Emeritus Professor Edwin Judge
Edwin Judge was educated in Classics at Canterbury (NZ) and Cambridge, and is now Emeritus Professor of History at Macquarie University. He has been appointed a member of the Order of Australia, and elected Honorary Fellow of the Australian Academy of the Humanities.
Judge interprets modern Western dynamism as arising from our unresolved tension between Classical fatalism and the gospel of Pentecost. Evidence lies in the linguistic detail of ancient and modern documents. Three collections of such studies have recently been published in the US and Germany, followed by 'Engaging Rome and Jerusalem: Historical Essays for our Time' (Melbourne 2014).
