Julien M. Ogereau completed a Bachelor of Theology (Hons) at Southern Cross College in 2010 and a doctorate in Early Christian Studies at the department of Ancient History at Macquarie University in 2014. His dissertation focused on Paul's economic partnership (koinonia) with the Philippians and was published in the WUNT series of Mohr Siebeck late 2014.

Since June 2014, he has been a research associate with the Topoi Excellence Cluster at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Germany.

His responsibilities include coordinating the technical development and publication of an open-access, digital collection of early Christian inscriptions (https://www.topoi.org/project/b-5-3/). He is also writing a book on the historical origins and development of Christianity in northern Greece, and on its impact on Graeco-Roman society, culture, and religion.
