About this Opportunity:

The National Embedded Cross Sector Teacher Education Program, is building (with the support of partners and the NSW government) three regional NSW Teaching School Hubs: the distinctive Alphacrucis University College (AUC) Initial Teacher Training (ITE) model that trains ITE students in clusters of schools, through an embedded clinical workplace model. Funding is allocated for one Teaching School Hub per schooling sector (Independent, Catholic, State School). The NECSTEP National Office coordinates the building of the new Hubs, the networking between them, interconnection with other existing AUC Teaching School Hubs, and the expansion of the programme into other areas and states. Two Hubs (Catholic and Independent) have already commenced this year, and the State School Hub is being negotiated. Other Teaching Schools are projected to join the Network as they develop.

  • With the NECSTEP Executive Director, budgeting and allocation management of human and capital resources within the NECSTEP Programme;
  • Organisation, coordination, logistics, and implementation of existing and new elements of NECSTEP Teaching School Hubs;
  • Ensuring Regional Directors and Hub Directors receive efficient and beneficial help when required, including optional support and facilitation;
  • Building and leading the team of AUC regional directors into a high functioning and unified group
  • Systems development within the NECSTEP programme;
  • Ensure the implementation of AC policies and procedures in NECSTEP;
  • Liaise with AUC Regional Directors and host partner organisations for higher level management of operational issues arising from Hubs
  • In consultation with Registry, IT, and Online, focus on the strategic growth and expansion of student enrolments through NECSTEP, and implement strategies to ensure this growth occurs;
  • Representing the College to the Christian community and general public as delegated by the NECSTEP Executive Director;
  • Participating in the various faculty and organisational committees as required;
  • Participating in the life of the College when required and when possible
  • Organizing NECSTEP events as directed.
  • Occasional travel to Hub sites in Regional NSW may be required

Required Skills and Proficiencies:

  • Completion of Bachelors or Master’s degree in relevant discipline.
  • Evidence of extensive operational management and administration in the school educational workplace, the tertiary workforce, and/ or other workplace contexts
  • Understanding of the mission of vocational and higher education in Christian- affiliated and State schools;
  • Evidence of effective management of workplace teams
  • Proven leadership, people and communication skills;
  • Successful experience in academic and organisational administration;
  • Understanding of school, Higher Education and VET systems and processes
  • Client-service focused: committed to providing exceptional customer service across all channels – written, phone and face to face.
  • Communication: the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, varying communication style depending upon the audience.
  • Attention to detail: excellent attention to detail and written skills when communicating with others, both internally and externally.
  • Business skills: ability to apply knowledge in a practical, applied manner, in particular as relates to finances and commercial models.
  • Teamwork: willingness to lead, assist and support others as required and get on with team members.
  • Time management/organisation: accomplish objectives effectively within time frame given, and carry out administrative duties within portfolio in an efficient and timely manner.
