About this Opportunity:

The Director of Student Experience provides leadership for AC on-campus and online student experience across all of AC’s campuses, including admission, orientation, enrolment, student support services, and graduation. The purpose of this position is to ensure coordinated responsibility for areas within AC that centre on activities relating to students. The Director of Student Experience is tasked to ensure that all students studying at AC have a quality experience, are adequately supported administratively and academically, and have opportunities for growth and engagement. This includes providing oversight and coordination of all student services and activities, and developing and implementing systems to ensure sufficiency and equity of student support at all College locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership at AC in the area of student support and administration to achieve successful, efficient and student-centric operations;
  • Oversee student administration and support functions, including application, enrolment, progression, attrition, completion;
  • Implement, report, review, and improve on all plans within the purview of Student Experience, such as Student Services and Support Plan, and the Diversity and Equity Plan;
  • Provide leadership in the creation and development of initiatives to enhance student experience such as international programs and career partnerships;
  • Develop and oversee student support services and initiatives such as disability services, LOTE student support services, and other student-related services as required;
  • Work with stakeholders across the college to facilitate effective and efficient administration and student service processes;
  • Provide leadership as business owner of the student management system;
  • Provide managerial leadership of Student Affairs in the processes of budgeting, hiring, training, workload allocations, and staff management;
  • Build a vibrant and capable team;
  • Serve on Academic Board, Growth Committee, and other committees as required.

Required Skills and Proficiencies:

  • Completion of a higher education qualification strongly preferred;
  • Commitment to the Christian faith that informs one’s professional and personal choices and commitments;
  • Management or leadership experience strongly preferred;
  • Successful experience in providing student support services in a college or university context;
  • Evidence of team leadership, strategic thinking, and project planning and implementation skills;
  • Commitment to prioritising the needs of students;
  • Proven people skills grounded in a genuine respect for others and demonstrated in a range of contexts including administrative teams and internal and external constituencies;
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and constituents;
  • Ability to hire, mentor, supervise and motivate staff.
