About this Opportunity:

The Teacher’s Assistant (TA) reports to the Head of School of Education and works closely with the Directors of Study. The TA role facilitates unit delivery by performing a number of administrative tasks, such as preparation, during semester administration, and post semester administration.

Responsibilities:

  • Exercise administration functions within the School of Education;
  • Use the Student Management System (Quercus) to support student enrolment matters;
  • Use the Learning Management System (Moodle) for a range of delivery related administration, including subject rollovers and setup;
  • Assist academic staff with regular Moodle updates and general administrative tasks for ongoing unit improvements in Moodle;
  • Support the Directors of Study with student enquiries;
  • Assist with data collection, planning and reporting.

Required Skills and Proficiencies:

  • Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree from an Australian university or other recognised Australian or international institution of higher education preferred;
  • Successful experience in academic administration activities and using student management and learning management systems;
  • Knowledge of software relevant to faculty administration;
  • Communication: the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with academics and administrators;
  • Attention to detail: excellent attention to detail and written skills when communicating with others;
  • Teamwork: willingness to assist and support others as required and get on with team members;
  • Time management/organisation: ability to manage multiple projects within expected timeframes with excellent administrative skills;
  • Professional approach;
  • Organisational and time management skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Proven people skills grounded in a genuine respect for others and demonstrated in a range of contexts.
