오늘 우리 시대는 인공지능 로봇 주도형 4차 산업혁명이 주도하면서, 인문학의 위기를 말합니다. 하지만 이 위기는 신학과 기독교 교육에는 또 하나의 기회로 작용합니다.

우리 대학은 그리스도 중심의 영성, 하나님의 형상 (the Image of God, Imago Dei, 창 1:26)을 가진 사람을 중시하는 교육철학을 지향합니다.

급변하는 사회를 기독교 세계관으로 분석하고, 창의적 비평으로 읽어내는 시대가 요구하는 리더와 봉사자를 양성하기 위해 최고 양질의 교육을 제공하는 사명을 갖고 있습니다.

또한 우리 대학은 호주 다문화 사회 전역에 흩어져 있는 한인 디아스포라를 넘어, 전세계에 흩어져 있는 한인 디아스포라를 섬기라는 준엄한 소명이 있습니다. 한인 디아스포라의 신학과 기독교 교육의 허브(hub)의 사명을 갖고 있습니다. 한인 디아스포라 다음 세대 – 1.5, 2, 3 세대 – 를 위한 신학과 기독교 교육에 걸맞는 교육 시스템과 패러다임 구축을 진행 하고 있습니다.

우리는 학생들을 함께 동역할 파트너로 생각하며, 학생들의 영성과 지성 개발, 복지 향상을 위한 행정 운영 시스템을 구축하는데 심혈을 기울이고 있습니다.

The Korean Department of Alphacrucis College is a hub of theological and Christian education for diaspora Koreans in Australia and in the globe.

Welcome to the Korean Department of Alphacrucis College.

Today, we live in a world of the 4th industrial revolution that is predominantly characterised by robot and AI (artificial intelligence) and that appears to require less human involvement. Hence, as said, the humanities are in crisis and a lot less interesting.

And yet this crisis could possibly turn into an opportunity for theological and Christian education to recapture attention.

Our college embraces the philosophy of education that enhances Christ-centred spirituality and puts great emphasis upon people-focused learning and teaching ethos, whom God made in his image (Imago Dei, Gen 1:26).

Our college is committed to providing our students with the best quality of education service that enables and equips them to become leaders and volunteers in various Christian workplaces.

Thus, they can be capable of meeting the spiritual/Christian and cultural need of Korean people as well as of people of other nationalities. And they can be able to read and analyse the rapid and speedy change of our society with Christian worldview and creative critique.

Our college is solemnly commissioned to serve diaspora Koreans who scatter around in the multicultural society of Australia nationally and who reside all over the world internationally and globally. We are called to serve Korean and non-Korean people in the world as a hub and centre for Korean diaspora studies.

We are now establishing and developing appropriate educational systems, paradigms and curriculums that meet the need of theological and Christian education for 1.5th, 2nd and 3rd generations of diaspora Koreans who are bi-lingual, and who struggle and juggle between Korean cultural traditions and Australia’s multicultural dynamics. And yet in this living environment they are wrestling to shape their identity as Australians of Korean background.

Our college provides a broad range of Australian-Government recognised courses - Diplomas, Bachelors, Masters and Doctor of Ministry and Doctor of Philosophy, and online courses that are available for Korean people who like to study from all over the world.

Our college highly values and respects our students as partners and put great effort in building up administrative managing systems to help them develop their spirituality and intelligence, and it improves its welfare systems for students.

The door of our college is open widely for everybody.

History 연혁

알파크루시스 대학교는 1948년 설립된 Commonwealth Bible College를 모태로 하여 Southern Cross College로 장족의 성장을 거듭했으며, 2009년 Alphacrucis College로 교명을 바꾸고 시드니 파라마타 지역으로 캠퍼스를 이전하였습니다.

호주 시드니 파라마타(New South Wales 주) 캠퍼스를 중심으로 맬번(Victoria 주), 브리스번(Queensland 주), 애들레이드(South Australia 주), 퍼스(Western Australia 주), 호바트(Tasmania 주) 그리고 뉴질랜드(Auckland, New Zealand)와 핀란드(Finland) 등에 캠퍼스를 두고 있으며, 또한 Online Campus를 통해 글로벌 네트워크를 구성하여 학업에 효율성을 높여주고 있습니다.

본교의 한국학부(Korean Campus)는 1994년 권다윗 박사가 주도하여 개설되었으며, 지난 20여년 동안 1500명 이상의 졸업생을 배출하였습니다. 한국학부는 Vocational Education and Training과정에서부터 Higher Education에 이르는 호주 교육부에서 승인된 정규 학위과정을 한국어로 제공하고 있으며, 호주 교육부 인정 신학교육기관인 The Council of Deans of the Theology의 정회원 신학교육기관입니다.

Doctor of Philosophy: 2018년 호주 최초로 한국어 철학박사과정을 승인 받음으로써 명실상부한 기독교대학의 위상과 한인 이민사회에 신학적∙학문적 토양을 확고히 하였습니다.
Master of Counselling: 2021년 호주 최초의 한국어 상담학석사과정을 승인 받음으로써 한인커뮤티의 상담과 복지에 대한 실제적이며 학문적인 성찰을 이루어가게 되었습니다.
