Outcomes

  1. Summarise and critique distinctive elements and strategies that are associated with formative assessment practices;
  2. Justify the intentional inclusion of formative assessment approaches with reference to school context and a biblical worldview;
  3. Test formative assessment approaches in their classes;
  4. Modify current assessment practice by incorporating new formative approaches and discuss with reference to theory the likely impact on student learning;
  5. Devise an approach to formative assessment that recognises student diversity.

  3. Assessment for, of and as Learning: Distinguishing between assessment purposes
  4. The Assessment for Learning Movement: Formative approaches to assessment
  5. Embracing Technology: Using technology for student assessment
  6. Celebrating Diversity: Fair and equitable assessment for all students
  7. Designing and Selecting Assessment Strategies: Planning for assessment
  8. Reporting of student achievement: Sharing assessment information with stakeholders
  9. Assessment in a Christian school community: Summary and significance of using formative assessment collaboratively as Christian teachers
