This subject is designed to equip students to identify, investigate and address an issue within their own professional life. In this research component, students will develop a thesis that explores issues of relevancy to them and their context. The goal of this thesis is not only to benefit the student but to also make a contribution to the mission of the Church through its contribution of learning and/or new practice.

Outcomes

  1. Autonomously and analytically engage in critical reflection, synthesis and evaluation of the body of theoretical knowledge related to a particular area in the field of ministry.
  2. Demonstrate an indepth understanding of advanced research principles, methods and approaches used in the field of ministry.
  3. Display a critical, creative and systematic understanding of a substantial and complex body of knowledge that makes an original contribution in the field of ministry.
  4. Communicate effectively complex ideas, original knowledge and proposed solutions to peers and general audiences.
  5. Demonstrate an advanced level of integrative reflection which will inform and enhance professional ministry practice, and provide creative responses to contemporary challenges.

As this subject is delivered over 2.5 years, students re-enrol each semester (A, B, C, D, E) as an additional administrative check for the subject co-ordinator to ensure their progression. Fees for this subject will be spread across the five semesters (A, B, C, D, E).
