Details for Creative Therapies
Students will develop the capacity to use creative expression towards self-understanding and understanding of others. Students will also plan, implement and analyse interventions that draw on the skills of companioning, description, bracketing, reduction, amplification, creating themes and mapping. The following skills will also be encouraged: improvisation, imaginative variation, collaborative inquiry, intersubjective responding and reflexive research.

Outcomes
- Develop the capacity to use creative expression towards self-understanding and understanding of others;
- Plan, implement and analyse interventions that draw on the skills of companioning, description, bracketing, reduction, amplification, creating themes and mapping. The following skills will also be encouraged: improvisation, imaginative variation, collaborative inquiry, intersubjective responding and reflexive research;
- Appraise the theoretical and practical applications of using the arts in therapy;
- Demonstrate the appropriate use of art material, creative expression and sand tray objects to further one’s own and another’s meaning- making.
