Professor Douil Kim received his Doctor of Philosophy (EdD) from the Presbyterian School of Christian Education in the USA. His doctoral dissertation topic was \"Education or Living Religiously Together.\" He taught the History of Contemporary Christian Education at Presbyterian University and Theological Seminary from 1997 until his retirement in 2025. He currently serves as Professor Emeritus at the same university and as Co-Director of the Family-Church-Maeul Institute.
Based on the missional church, he trains individuals to foster biblical health in their families, serves churches, and fulfills his missionary educational mission in his community. His publications include 'The Flow and Central Ideas of Modern Christian Educational Thought' and 'Home Church Village Educational Community,' among others. He is currently conducting research on the collaboration between artificial intelligence and humans.
He served as President of the Korean Society for Christian Education and held various positions at Presbyterian University and Theological Seminary, including Director of Planning and Dean of the Graduate School of Education. He is currently a full member of the Korean Christian Association. He also serves as an associate pastor at Onnuri Church and Shinyang Church. He is an Honorary Professor at Alphacrucis University College and a supervisor for the HDR PhD program.
Douil has translated numerous theological and educational works into Korean, including books by Walter Brueggemann, Horace Bushnell, Thomas Groome, Maria Harris, Iris Cully, and Robert Stein.
