Students will learn essential skills to bridge the gap of understanding between older and younger peoeple, such as the advocacy and understanding of all people, including the eldery and their role and value in society. Emphasis is placed on supporting the rights of elderly people, whilst fostering a respectful work intervention framework, exploring key concepts such as human rights.

  1. Develop relationships with older people, appreciating social, cultural and spiritual differences;
  2. Demonstrate skills required to provide serives to older people including suitable referral or advocacy;
  3. Demonstrate the skills required to support the rights of older people and develop a respectful intervention framework;
  4. Promote the issues of health and re-ablement of older people.
