Outcomes

  1. Describe an understanding of the historical, educational and social factors that have impacted Christian schooling in Australia
  2. Appraise the distinctive features of parent directed Christian schools with reference to the development of the Christian Education Network (CEN) movement
  3. Formulate an understanding and appreciation of other models of Christian schooling;
  4. Analyse and defend the issues involved with maintaining foundational values in changing educational and social contexts;
  5. Assess the ways a particular school seeks to maintain congruence with its vision and practice.

  1. The early history of Christian schooling in Australia
  2. The development of Parent-Controlled (CEN) schools
  3. Other models of distinctively Christian schooling in Australia and internationally
  4. Maintaining vision and values
  5. Christian schooling in the current social context
  6. Investigating another model of Christian schooling 

This course may be offered in the following formats

  • Intensive (5 days of classes/7 hours per day followed by 85 hours reading, writing and assignments)
  • Extensive (5 days spread over the semester)
