Graduation Ceremony 2026

Date: Saturday, 2nd May 2026

Time: Guests arrive from 1:30pm
Ceremony begins at 2:30pm

Venue: ICC Sydney – Pyrmont Theatre

Eligibility

To be eligible to graduate, you must:

  • Successfully complete all course requirements.
  • Have no outstanding fees or library fines.
  • Submit the Graduation Application Form by the deadline.

Degrees are conferred twice annually – in May (with a ceremony) and December (in absentia only).

How to Apply

All students who have completed the requirements of their course will automatically be included in the Graduation and will receive a confirmation email prior to conferral. This email will include a chance to register for the ceremony or to have any documentation printed. 

Academic Dress

Wearing academic dress is a formal requirement if you attend the Graduation Ceremony. Details on gown hire or purchase will be provided upon confirmation of attendance.

Guest Tickets

Graduates will be able to register for guest tickets. Information on how many tickets and how to reserve them will be shared closer to the event date.

Graduating In Absentia

If you’re unable to attend the ceremony, you will graduate in absentia. Your testamur will be uploaded to MyeQuals for safe, secure record keeping. If you wish to pay to have your documents printed and posted to you, please apply here.

When will I know if I'm eligible to graduate?+
Once your final grades have been processed and your academic requirements confirmed, you'll receive an eligibility notification.
Do I have to attend the ceremony to graduate?+
No. You can choose to graduate in absentia if you cannot attend.
Can I attend the ceremony in a future year instead?+
Yes, you will need approval to attend a Graduation Ceremony in a later year. We encourage you to attend the ceremony aligned with your conferral date, but please contact studentsupport@ac.edu.au in the event of a delay.
When will I receive my testamur?+
If attending the ceremony, you'll receive it on the day. If graduating in absentia, it will be posted shortly after the conferral date.
Can I get extra guest tickets?+
Ticket numbers are limited and will be confirmed closer to the date. If additional tickets become available, they will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
What if I lose my testamur?+
You can request a replacement testamur through the Student Support Team. Fees apply.
Will photos be available from the event?+
Yes, a professional photographer will be present, and photos will be available for purchase after the event.
What do I wear to the ceremony?+
Graduates are required to wear full academic regalia. Smart attire is expected underneath.
Can I defer my graduation?+
Graduation conferral cannot be deferred. You can choose to graduate in absentia if you're unable to attend.
