WHAT IS APPLIED SOCIAL SCIENCE?
Applied Social Science trains and equips you to assist others in a professional and caring manner, based on evidence-based interventions and best-practice principles. You can choose to specialise in either counselling, chaplaincy & pastoral care, youth work, community work, or cross-cultural community work, with course content and experience meeting appropriate industry requirements.

You’ll have the interpersonal skills and knowledge to work across a variety of client settings, such as schools, hospitals, prisons, sports chaplaincy, social, case or youth work, counselling and other support services, helping people be the best they can be.

WHAT ARE THE COURSES LIKE?
You will be learning from qualified and experienced health and industry-specific professionals. Our courses combine theoretical foundations with skill development and the practical experience required to work effectively in a range of applied social science contexts. With an emphasis on skill development and practical experience, you will learn to work professionally to help others.

**Subjects with required face-to-face delivery, such as Social Science and Education practicals, will meet physical distancing measures and required hygiene practices. Based on the latest Government advice, we are planning for a gradual return to face-to-face teaching for students who can attend campus.
