  1. Describe the literary and socio-historical context, content, structure and themes of the Major and Minor Prophets; 
  2. Evaluate the ancient Near East setting of biblical prophetic literature with particular emphasis on the theology of comparative religions; 
  3. Exegete critically both the primary biblical material and secondary literature from a range of perspectives; 
  4. Critically analyse the literary characteristics, themes and message of OT prophetic literature, including the role of intertextuality; 
  5. Evaluate Yahweh’s involvement in human history as seen in the prophetic literature.
