Outcomes
- Demonstrate a growing professional knowledge of how young children learn and of appropriate curriculum content and how this knowledge is applied in early Education and Care
- Systematically document and critically analyse the pedagogies and practices of teaching and learning, and ways to positively guide children’s behaviour
- Demonstrate a developing capacity to plan, implement and assess for effective teaching and learning and for safely managing young children and promoting safe, supportive learning environment
- Critically examine ideas, issues and principles connected with professional decision making as a teacher in an early childhood setting
- Demonstrate increasing capacity to develop and maintain effective professional relationships with the early childhood learning and teaching community to enhance learning opportunities.

- Introduction to Professional Experience for children aged 3 to 5 years
- See the current Professional Experience Manual for details about this PEX 2 experience and responsibilities
- Roles and responsibilities of participants and stakeholders, including leadership, administration and management (including Child Protection and Mandatory Reporting)
- Planning and Programming in Early Education and Care services for children 3 to 5 years of age
The Assessment and Planning Cycle
- Analysis of a range of observation, assessment and documentation methods to inform teaching practice and evaluation of g meaningful learning experiences using a range of resources responsible to the needs and interests of young g children
- Building and supporting children’s learning
- Building a repertoire of theoretically informed pedagogical strategies through analysis and reflection upon teaching decisions and approaches
- Effective communication with families about children’s learning and development
- Developmentally appropriate practice for children 3 to 5 years
- Inquiry based Learning
- Health and Safety
- Reflective Practice and Continuous Improvement
- Reflection on PEX 2
