FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Sydney, 28th October 2026 — Alphacrucis University College has reached a significant milestone in its expansion of higher education, with its new Bachelor of Laws (LLB) accredited by the Legal Profession Admission Board of New South Wales.
The approval establishes the academic accreditation of the College’s new law degree and marks an important step towards welcoming its first cohort of law students, with an initial intake planned for 2027.
The four-year program has been developed to combine rigorous legal education, professional skills and ethical decision-making within Alphacrucis’s distinctive Christian educational environment.
Professor Stephen Fogarty, President of Alphacrucis University College, described the accreditation as an important milestone in the institution’s continuing development.
“This is a significant moment for Alphacrucis. For more than 75 years, we have been committed to equipping people to make a meaningful contribution to society. The establishment of our Law School is an exciting extension of that mission.”
“We want to prepare graduates who are academically capable, professionally equipped and deeply committed to integrity, justice and service.”
Founded in 1948 as a Pentecostal Bible college, Alphacrucis has grown into a multidisciplinary university college offering qualifications across fields including education, business, health and human sciences, and theology.
The new School of Law represents another step in the institution’s commitment to preparing graduates for leadership and service across Australian society.
Professor Augusto Zimmermann, Foundation Dean of Law at Alphacrucis University College, said the School aims to provide a distinctive contribution to Australian legal education.
“Legal education is about far more than learning legislation and judicial decisions. It is about developing the ability to reason carefully, understand the foundations of our legal system and exercise sound judgement.”
“Our ambition is to provide an academically rigorous legal education that encourages students to think deeply about justice, ethics, the rule of law and their responsibilities to the communities they serve.”
The Bachelor of Laws has been developed with input from experienced legal educators, practising barristers and senior legal academics.
Prospective students can now register their interest to receive updates about the program and future application opportunities.
