About this Opportunity:

This role is responsible for strategy, coordination and oversight of Alphacrucis University College (AC) partnership with the teaching school (s) to promote and support the AC Teaching School model across the region.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic coordination and management of the region, including oversight of AC’s partnership with the allocated hubs.
  • Pastoral care of existing and new student cohorts at the Teaching School, plus the Teaching School director as required
  • Academic advice to ensure students in the Teaching School are engaged with their studies and lecturers plus receive efficient help when required.
  • Advocacy for both AC and the Teaching school to ensure a positive experience for all participants in the Teaching School minimising reputational risk for AC.
  • Liaising with the School of Education to support the smooth running of activities in the Teaching School including development and implementation of AC policies and procedures including feedback on academic offerings where appropriate.
  • Coordinating course offerings in the relevant programs, including calendars and timetables in consultation with the School of Education and the Teaching School Director.
  • Liaison with AC departments (i.e. marketing and development) to support the development and expansion of the Teaching School model.
  • Representing the College at events that have been prioritised in discussion with the Head of School.
  • Liaising with principals, mentors, and senior staff in participating schools as required, particularly around student placements for the Professional Experience Programme.
  • Tertiary supervision of students on professional experience as requested by the Professional Experience Program Director.
  • Participating in the various faculty and organisational meetings as required.

Required Skills and Proficiencies:

  • Completion of, or willingness to complete, a Higher Degree by Research.
  • Completion of Bachelors or Master’s degree in relevant discipline.
  • Evidence of a broad understanding of the Christian education sector, and leadership experience
  • Understanding of the mission of higher education in Christian schools
  • Proven leadership, people and communication skills and knowledge of Christian educational systems and processes
  • Consultancy and liaison skills: the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, and nuance communication style depending upon the audience.
  • Attention to detail: excellent attention to detail and written skills when communicating with others, both internally and externally.
  • Collegiality; proven ability to assist and support others as required to meet the key responsibilities of the role.
  • Time management/organisation: carry out responsibilities effectively within time allocation and limits of the role.
  • Professional relational approach.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Confident manner.
  • Positive approach to change.
  • Willingness to learn
  • Practicing Christian with active Church involvement
  • Overnight/multisite stays away for work may be required to fulfil the requirements of the role.
  • Clean driving licence essential
  • Current Child Protection approval (state/territory relevant)
