Throughout this elective unit students will look at the various contexts and values that impact on youth work. Students will look at best practice in providing support to young people.

Outcomes

1. Apply understanding of the social, historical, economic, legal and political contexts of young people
2. Apply understanding of the context of youth work
3. Work within the core values and practice frameworks of youth work
4. Work with understanding of the impact of values in determining the approach to working with young people

2. Working models for various contexts
3. Need for relationship building with youth
4. Collaborating with other agencies
5. Research in the youth sector
