Outcomes

  1. Identify and analyse social, historical, economic, legal and political contexts of young people;
  2. Discuss the role of the Chaplain in working with young people in church-based and other community contexts;
  3. Acquire the skills necessary to apply the core values and practice frameworks of Chaplaincy youth work;
  4. Report on the impact of personal and professional values in determining the appropriate approach to working with young people.

  • Youth work models for various contexts
  • Principles for relationship building with young people
  • Collaborating with other agencies
  • Research in the youth sector
  • Youth work service provision, including case management, assessment and referrals
