Details for Advanced Professional Practice
Advanced Professional Practice builds on Professional Practice. It provides a chance for students to continue the challenging but rewarding combination of academic reflection upon contemporary ministerial issues and hands-on experience.
Like Professional Practice, you will work with an experienced supervisory mentor (no family members or close friends!), complete a 100 hour placement over the course of semester, with a variety of formats to choose from.

Curriculum Objective
Building upon the experience of the Professional Practice, this course seeks to increase the student’s confidence and expertise in the practice of their Major Specialisation
Outcomes
Students should be able to:
- Evaluate advanced competencies required for the industry/ field of the professional practice;
- Apply these competencies to real-life contexts and workplace situations as appropriate to their experience;
- Demonstrate knowledge of current issues in the field of the professional practice;
- Demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively in a workplace setting. This includes clarifying roles and instructions, problem solving, presentation skills, conflict resolution skills, and intercultural communication skills;
- Demonstrate an understanding of the realities of working in the field of the professional practice;
- Evaluate the development of their professional skills in the field of the professional practice. This includes self-evaluation of performance and development of improvement strategies.
