Outcomes
- Explain the emergence of adolescence and how this has impacted both historical and contemporary youth work;
- Construct a ‘map’ of a (specified) local youth work sector and predict possible future directions in youth work;
- Apply the principles and guidelines that inform youth work practice to your current or intended youth work practice and develop a personal position statement for youth work;
- Plan future study and Professional Development to maintain currency of knowledge and skills for a socially responsible model and practice in working with youth.

- Definitions of Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care
- The role of a Chaplain/Pastoral Carer in a variety of current Australian contexts
- Common Chaplaincy/Pastoral Care issues
- Communicating the gospel in a secular setting (awareness that this is not permitted in many workplaces)
- The cycle of programming, implementing, evaluating and reflecting in Chaplaincy and pastoral care
- Reporting to others and accountability as a chaplain or pastoral carer
- The importance of continuing Professional Development
