  1. Identify a range of variables relating to population and development, and describe the patterns and trends they show, both individually and collectively
  2. Develop an original composite index of development, including both theweightings of its components (with explanation) and the Christian ethics underpinning it
  3. Apply the composite index to a country, and then compare the development of that country when viewed through single- factor variables and other composite indices
  4. Critically reflect on the adequacy of indicators of population and development
  5. Compare and contrast the ways in which the demographic patterns, demographic structures and levels of economic development in a range of countries differ
  6. Analyse in detail the causes, types and patterns of migration in diverse countries
  7. Critically review the relative impacts (both positive and negative) of migration on thedemographics, economic development, and ethical responses (Christian and secular) of diverse countries.
